SANTA BARBARA TOURISM INDUSTRY EXPRESSES GRATITUDE WITH SPECIAL CALIFORNIA FIREFIGHTERS DISCOUNT PROGRAM

50 Santa Barbara County Hotels, Restaurants, Cultural Venues and Attractions Offer Savings and Freebies to say "Thank You" to California's Firefighters

On behalf of the Santa Barbara County travel industry, the Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau and Film Commission is pleased to present an exclusive California Firefighters Discount Program to acknowledge the important work of the brave men and women who have valiantly protected Santa Barbara County on several occasions in the past year. 50 hotels, restaurants, wineries, museums and attractions extended special rates and offers that any California firefighter can take advantage of through December 31, 2009. The California Firefighters Discount Program was inspired by feedback from gracious fire crews who traveled from throughout the state to help battle the recent Jesusita Fire and slept in area hotels between shifts. The tourism community joined together to express their gratitude through the gift of travel and iconic local experiences. In addition to discounts offered by 19 hotels in the county and eight restaurants, 22 museums, attractions and event producers extended free and discounted admissions to California firefighters, giving local fire personnel plenty to take advantage of in their own "backyard" as well.
