Getting There is Truly Half the Fun in SB!
Whether you’ve arrived by train, plane or bus, getting around Santa Barbara car-free once you’re here is easy and care-free! Santa Barbara’s public transportation is abundant and affordable. Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) offers multiple stops throughout downtown and the Santa Barbara South Coast, including Goleta, Montecito and Carpinteria. Or take the classic Santa Barbara Waterfront Shuttle. This open-air trolley is just $.50 per ride and transports people up and down State Street and along the waterfront.
If you’re looking for more adventurous modes of transportation, consider renting a bike or surrey and cruising the town on your own. Or take a Segway tour of the area! If you’re looking for a unique way to get from Santa Barbara Harbor to Stearns Wharf, hop on a water taxi and enjoy an educational ride when you do. Of course, Santa Barbara’s pedestrian-friendly downtown makes walking an excellent option. And if you’re feeling like going for a ride without the work of pedaling, hop on a pedicab!
