Qupe
Overview:
Qupe was founded in 1982 by Bob Lindquist, for the purpose of producing cool climate syrah and Rhone varietals. Bob started out by making the first syrah in Santa Barbara county in 1982 and then went on to produce the first Marsanne in California, and first Viognier in Santa Barbara. 30 years later we are still pioneering and trying new things. In 2001 we introduced our Verdad label which focuses on Spanish varieties and is made by Bob's wife Louisa Sawyer Lindquist
At the family vineyard, located in the Edna Valley, Bob and Louisa farm Biodynamically, and the wines that come from that vineyard are certified Demeter Biodynamic. At our Santa Ynez Valley vineyard, Ibarra-Young, we farm organically with the help of the original planter and caretaker, Miguel Ibarra. Our tasting room is located in the heart of Los Olivos, and features wine tastings daily, with reserve tastings being poured on Sat. and Sun. at 12, 2 and 3:30 in our Members Cellar.
