Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Overview:

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, one of southern California's finest art museums, features nationally recognized collections and special exhibitions of international importance. Highlights of the Museum's remarkable permanent collection include antiquities; 19th-century French, British, and American art; 20th-century and contemporary European, North American and Latin American art; Asian art; photography; and works on paper.

Recent exhibitions of significance include Delacroix to Monet: Masterpieces of 19th-Century Painting from the Walters Art Museum, Noble Tombs at Mawangdui: Art and Life in the Changsha Kingdom, China (3rd Century BCE to 1st Century CE), Yinka Shonibare, MBE: A Flying Machine for Every Man, Woman and Child and Other Astonishing Works.

Visitors will also enjoy the interactive Family Resource Center, the Museum Cafe, and the Museum Store.
