Noted as one of the finest examples of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture in America, the 1925 Casa del Herrero is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and, in January 2009, was designated a National Historic Landmark. Designed by George Washington Smith for the Steedman family, the 11 acre estate offers a glimpse of Montecito in the 1930's. Furnished in 14th-18th century Spanish antiques, the home is surrounded by extensive Moorish-styled gardens.Public Tours: February-Mid December, Wednesdays & Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Group tours available other days.
