Celebrate Earth Day in its Hometown!

The Community Environmental Council (CEC) hosts the 41st annual Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival in Alameda Park April 16 and 17. Santa Barbara was the birthplace of Earth Day and the modern environmental movement. Under the theme “Powered by the People” and CEC’s “Fossil Free by ‘33” campaign, the 2011 festival will feature 250 exhibitors, free valet bike parking, the 3rd annual Green Shorts Film Festival, the 11th annual Green Car Show and more. New this year, the Eco Marketplace showcases cutting-edge purveyors of green products, and the Children’s Enchanted Forest gets the next generation involved in the cause. SBEarthDay.org

66th Annual Santa Barbara Orchid Show
