Saxophonist Charles Lloyd is a forward-thinking “musician’s musician.” His passion for cross-pollinating jazz with rock as well as non-Western styles of music established him as one of the key figures in the development of fusion and world music.
Hailed for their "ravishingly beautiful tone" as well as their "extraordinary technical skills and musicianship" the members of the New Orford String Quartet are all principal players in the Montreal and Toronto Symphony Orchestras.

The Rosary Sonatas were composed in the 1670s by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, and are being performed by Andrew McIntosh and Arthur Omura with baroque violins, harpsichord, and organ. This brilliant, sublime, and famous set of works epitomizes many of those aspects of baroque music that are most compelling: inventiveness, reverence, eccentricity, wild virtuosity, meditative austerity, and unusual tunings. Dubbed the West Coast's hottest Brazilian band by promoters, journalists and fans, SambaDá musically unites the Americas. Based in the rich musical traditions of Brazil, SambaDá also references salsa and cumbia, and blends them playfully with funk and reggae beats.
One of the highlights of Santa Barbara Music Club's concerts is the opportunity for audiences to hear great music from a variety of historical periods, with a diversity of musical forms, performed by excellent artists. This concert will feature music for piano solo from the Baroque era, and for voice and piano and violin and piano from the Romantic Era.
The program celebrates the work of J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel. Under the direction of Chris A. Bowman, the concert will open with the orchestra's presentation of Bach's "Sinfoinia" followed by the blending of choral voices and orchestra in Bach cantatas including, "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "Dona Nobis Pacem" and Handel's oratorio "Messiah" with its "Hallelujah" chorus.
