Transportation
Transportation is one of the things that make Santa Barbara a dream destination. By air, you can fly directly into the enchanting, Spanish-style Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) or Los Angeles International (LAX). By train, Amtrak brings you right downtown, steps away from State Street, Stearns Wharf and the Waterfront. By car, road-trippers enjoy one of the world's most spectacular scenic drives along Highways 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway.
Once you've arrived in Santa Barbara, park the car and leave the keys! Getting around town is easy! Along State Street and the Waterfront, electric shuttles and pedicabs ferry people up and down the scenic byways. For those venturing beyond the downtown core, hop on an MTD bus at the Carillo Street Transit Center, the hub for our renowned public transportation. If you prefer to take in the sights and sounds at a slower pace, travel on foot. Santa Barbara is pedestrian friendly, and most attractions are centrally located.
