Santa Barbara Transportation
Transportation is one of the things that make Santa Barbara a dream destination. By air, you can fly directly into the enchanting, Spanish-style Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) or Los Angeles International (LAX). The Santa Barbara Airbus provides 14 regular scheduled trips to and from LAX and the Santa Barbara area daily. By train, Amtrak brings you right downtown, steps away from State Street, Stearns Wharf and the Waterfront. The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner offers six trains per day coming into Santa Barbra from the south with a large portion of the San Diego to San Luis Obispo route running along the Pacific Coast. By car, road-trippers enjoy one of the world's most spectacular scenic drives along Highways 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway.
Once you've arrived, park the car and leave the keys! Parking is plentiful in Santa Barbara with a variety of parking garages, city lots and paid structures available throughout downtown. Come prepared with this map of places to park. Getting around town is also easy! Along State Street and the Waterfront, electric shuttles and pedicabs ferry people up and down the scenic byways. For those venturing beyond the downtown core, hop on an MTD bus at the Carillo Street Transit Center, the hub for our renowned public transportation. Taxi cabs are also available. If you prefer to take in the sights and sounds at a slower pace, travel on foot. Santa Barbara is pedestrian friendly, and most attractions are centrally located.
