Santa Barbara Airport
Santa Barbara may feel like a far-off destination, but getting here is amazingly easy! Visitors to Santa Barbara can fly nonstop to Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), located just 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara.
As Santa Barbara's popularity as a travel destination grows, so does the Santa Barbara airport! This summer, the airport unveils a new two-story; 72,000-square-foot building that boasts a sustainable, LEED-certified design, and accommodates the daily hustle and bustle that has grown to more than 750,000 passengers a year. Also included in the $63 million project is the relocation and rehabilitation of the older portion of the terminal, built in 1942 and resonating with historic Santa Barbara charm.
Santa Barbara Airport is currently serviced by five major airlines (American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Alaska/Horizon Air, United Airlines and US Airways) with direct flights to Santa Barbara from Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle. If you're arriving from an international destination, connect through Los Angeles International Airport or San Francisco International Airport for one-stop international travel.
Get real-time updates with the NEW SBA phone app, available in the App Store and Android Market, with live schedules as well as airline, car rental and parking information.
As an important community gateway, the airport has historically been a venue for public art that enriches the visitors experience and reflects the history and culture of the Santa Barbara region. In keeping with this mission, the new terminal project includes a Public Art Program, featuring commissioned art, long-term loan of existing art, and rotating exhibits of regional art.
